Hey you! You with the blog! Have you just started writing your own blogs and want to build your readership? Of course you are! You have thing to say that the world needs to hear, or at least I hope so. Whether you are writing online articles for fun, a class project or for business, you want people to be reading what you are taking the time to publish. So here are some universal tips to follow for all you bloggers in training out there.

1. Be Unique

Whether you are writing for personal reasons or official business, you want your articles to stand out regardless. Write about something nobody else is blogging about yet. Or use an original style that will attract readers. Give readers an online article unlike anything that have read before. Make them want to stick around and read more.

2. Web Design

The biggest turn off to any potential reader is a hard to navigate web site. This would include poor color choices, small text or confusing links and layout. Make your website simple to navigate and easy on the eyes. Include a menu system for anyone wanting to check out older articles or photos, one that is easy to locate and with concise options.

3. Be Passionate

Do you truly care about what you are blogging? Putting passion and feeling into your writing will translate with your readers. If they can sense you really care about what goes into your online articles then they are more incline to care about reading it.

4. Communicate with Readers

Being personable and approachable with your readers is a fantastic way to keep people coming back and spreading the word about your blog. If readers have questions or requests, listen to them and answer them. Letting readers suggest topics to write about or giving them your opinions on discussions is a great way to build a lasting relationship.

5. Cut the Fat

Make your blog entries lean, mean fighting machines! Proofread and edit everything before publishing. Eliminate any excess content. Only include what is most necessary. Over 70 percent of internet users do not read the entirety of articles they come across. Do not waste their time with fluff. If it is not stating anything important, than cut it out!

These are just five tips among countless others for improving blog writing. But, you got to start somewhere! Write your next blog entry with this advice in mind and hopefully you will see that readership start to grow!
