Caring for Your Teeth Before and After Braces
The video talks about the right way for a person to care for his or her teeth before and after braces. Dental hygiene is of the utmost importance when a person is receiving orthodontic care. The individual must use special tools and use practices designed to get food from between the teeth and braces during the treatment.
Flossing is one practice that must be done every day.
The individual must use a certain method to floss the teeth correctly. He or she will need to thread the floss underneath the archwire. Floss threaders are the tools a person can use to thread the floss in between the teeth.
A proxabrush is another tool someone can use to clean in between the teeth and around the braces. This brush is small, and it has bristles that can get in between the teeth thoroughly to remove small particles. The person should push the brush gently underneath the archwire to clean the individual teeth and the surrounding areas.
Orthodontic wax is another product a person might need while undergoing treatment with braces. This goes on top of the sensitive areas inside the mouth where the braces rub. It provides a coating that will help the individual to avoid getting any additional cuts.
